The IPL 2025 season has already seen its fair share of excitement as it nears the halfway mark. Typically, the league follows a set pattern—two matches on Sundays and occasionally on Saturdays, while weekdays generally feature just one game. But this Tuesday, April 8, breaks that norm with two fixtures on the same day:

• PBKS vs CSK at 7:30 PM

The Reason Behind Today’s Double Clash

Originally, only the PBKS vs CSK match was scheduled for April 8 at 7:30 PM in Mullanpur. The KKR vs LSG match was supposed to happen two days earlier—on Sunday, April 6 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

However, due to Ram Navami celebrations, Kolkata Police informed the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) that they wouldn’t be able to provide adequate security for the match on that day. As a result, the BCCI rescheduled the match to April 8, creating this rare Tuesday doubleheader.

What’s at Stake: KKR & LSG Both Eye Winning Run

Both Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants enter today's match with mixed results and find themselves mid-table—5th and 6th positions respectively.

• KKR’s campaign started on a rough note with a loss to RCB at Eden Gardens. They bounced back with a strong win over Rajasthan Royals, only to face an 8-wicket defeat by Mumbai Indians. However, they regained form with a dominant 80-run victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
   
• LSG’s journey began with a nail-biting loss to Delhi Capitals, followed by a win over SRH. A defeat to PBKS followed, but they turned things around in their last outing by beating Mumbai Indians convincingly.
