Let’s face it poker is confusing (it feels like folding fitted sheets) it gets more confusing when the players start using their poker phrases like “gunshot” or “ cowboy” as if they are in some wild west saloon.

1.  Blind -
These are forced bets posted by two players before the cards are dealt. There are small blind and big blinds. It's basically a fee to sit at the table.
2.  Big slick -
It refers to the ace and king combo in your hand. While it's powerful it can also put you in trouble.
3.  The nuts -
When someone says the nuts they are not talking about mental state. It means they best possible hand at the moment which is unstoppable, and unbeatable.
4.  Gunshot -
The straight draw in which you are one card away from a straight you need a very specific card to complete it. (It's like a miracle)
5.  Set-
A set is when you hold a pair in your hand and then hit the 3rd matching card on the board. Its like assembling the third or fourth or seventh mini armies.
6.  Donk bed -
This is when an inexperienced player or “donk” makes a bet out of nowhere ( which is usually a bad one). This bet might have been out of surprise.
7.  Fish -
This is someone who is very easy to catch. They are players on the table you want to keep in game ; they swim upstream against a current of bad decisions.
8.  Shark-
The sharks are predators at the poker table, they know what they are doing and if you are not careful you can be their next snack.
9.  Cowboy -
Two kings in your hand. Cowboys have swagger but like actual cowboys they can be unpredictable and shoot from time to time.
10.  Bullets -
Another card nickname, bullets refer to a pair of Aces in your hand. They are often regarded as the strongest starting hand but can backfire if played recklessly
11.  Tilt -
This is when a player loses their cool and starts making bad decisions. Think of it like your emotional house of cards falling apart after you’ve had one too many bad beats.
12.  Bad beat -
This is when you have a great hand, but your opponent pulls a rabbit out of their hat with some miraculous river card and destroys you.
13.  The river -
The river is the final community card dealt in Texas Hold’em, and it’s where dreams either come true or get crushed under the weight of shattered hopes
14.  Flop -
The first three community cards dealt in Texas Hold’em. It’s like the opening act of a concert
15.  Check raise -
This sneaky move involves checking to lull your opponents into a false sense of security, then raising after they bet. It's the poker equivalent of asking your friends if they want fries, and then eating half of theirs when they say yes.
