KKR Thrash SRH by 80 Runs at Eden Gardens
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) put up a dominating show, winning over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 80 runs in their IPL 2025 match at Eden Gardens.
Early Setback and Middle-Order Revival
Following the early loss of openers Sunil Narine and Quinton de Kock, KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane (38 off 27 balls) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (50 off 32 balls) steadied the innings with a vital partnership. Their performance set a strong foundation for the team.
Venkatesh Iyer's Blistering Knock
Starting on this premise, Venkatesh Iyer came out all guns blazing with a scorching 60 off 29 deliveries, taking KKR to an intimidating total of 200/6 in their 20 overs. Rinku Singh chipped in with a 17-ball unbeaten 32 as well, making it a tough ask for SRH.
Bowlers Reduce SRH Top Order to Rubble
Counter to this, SRH's chase collapsed early due to sharp bowling by KKR pacers. Vaibhav Arora spearheaded the attack with strong figures of 3/29, supported ably by Harshit Rana. The premature removals of SRH's top batsmen, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, left them gasping.
Dominating Bowling Display Cements Win
Varun Chakravarthy also tore apart the middle order with a 3/22 spell. Andre Russell added two wickets, leading to SRH bowling out for 120 in 16.4 overs. This all-round bowling effort sealed KKR's convincing 80-run win.
This victory not only improves KKR's position in the IPL table but also their Net Run Rate (NRR), which indicates their dominance in this match
