The IPL 2025 clash between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) was abruptly halted due to rising cross-border tensions near the venue in Dharamsala. As a precaution, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to call off the match to ensure the safety of players, officials, and fans.

Immediate Evacuation of Stadium Ordered
Spectators were asked to leave the stadium immediately, and players were escorted to their hotels. With airports in the region temporarily shut down, the BCCI has taken an urgent step to arrange a special train to safely transport players, support staff, and the broadcast team from the area.

BCCI Prioritises Player Safety
BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla addressed the media, stating:

“We are organising a special train from near Dharamsala to bring everyone back safely. Right now, the match has been called off and the stadium has been cleared. The situation wasn’t safe to continue the game. Player safety remains our top priority. We will decide the future of the tournament based on how things unfold tomorrow.”

Both Teams in a State of Uncertainty
Sources confirm that both DC and PBKS players are currently at their hotel, awaiting further instructions. There were signs of concern among players even before the match began, and with airport closures, there’s been growing uncertainty around their exit from the region.
